Olympic Disposal–Waste Connections has donated $1,000 in gift certificates for Bike Decorating Contest prizes. The contest is conducted by the Sequim Bicycle Alliance and the City of Sequim in anticipation of National Bike Month in May.
Prizes will be awarded in three categories: Adults ages 18 and up, Tweens ages 10-17, and Kids ages 4-9. Adult first place will receive a $300 gift certificate for Sequim Bike Studio, Tween and Kids first place will each receive a $250 gift certificate to Ben’s Bikes, and second place will each receive a $100 gift certificate to Ben’s Bikes.
Additionally, Sequim Bike Studio has donated two half-day electric bike rentals for the Adult second-place winner, and Ben’s Bikes has donated apparel for the Tween and Kids third-place winners.
To enter the contest, participants can submit photos of their decorated bikes online at https://www.jotform.com/form/250894859157171 until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30. Entries will be judged by Sequim businesses, and winners will be announced on May 2.
All participants are invited to walk their bikes with the Sequim Bicycle Alliance in the Irrigation Festival Kids’ Parade on Saturday, May 3, and the Grand Parade on Saturday, May 10.
