Olympic Medical welcomes new therapists

Physical therapist Doris Tate and occupational therapist Katie Irvin recently joined Olympic Medical Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation.

Tate completed her bachelor’s degree with honors at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma and has worked with patients in home health settings and acute care hospitals. She treats a variety of conditions and has a special interest in geriatrics and neurology.

“For patients recovering from stroke or disease, re-adjusting to everyday life can be difficult. It’s my goal as a physical therapist to help patients improve movement to make each day easier,” said Tate.

Irvin earned a master’s degree at Barry University in Miami and works with patients to restore function and enhance participation in their daily activities.

“I enjoy working individually with folks on their specific goals,” said Irvin.

Occupational therapy services include arthritis management, joint mobilization and protection, wheelchair assessments, industrial rehabilitation, driver’s readiness screens, pediatric rehabilitation and low-vision rehabilitation.

“We are thrilled to welcome these new therapists to Olympic Medical. They are outstanding additions to our team, as well as our community,” said Gloria Andrus, operations manager, Olympic Medical Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation.

Tate and Irvin will see patients at 321 N. Chambers St. in Port Angeles.

Olympic Medical Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation recently was voted Best Rehabilitation Facility in Sound Publishing’s Best of the Peninsula poll.
