The Olympic Peninsula Men’s Chorus will present two events at Olympic Theatre Arts in Sequim on Saturday, May 23.

All proceeds from these shows will go to benefit OTA in its efforts to support music and the arts on the Olympic Peninsula.

Also appearing on the shows are the barbershop quartet No Batteries Required, the country band Luck of the Draw and the local bluegrass band Farm Strong.

“Barbershop and bluegrass may sound like strange bedfellows or stage fellows,” said Rich Wyatt, show director for the men’s chorus, “but it’s a winning combination with great harmony and tunes that people like to sing. Audiences smile from one act to the next.”

The Olympic Peninsula Men’s Chorus, originally chartered in 1981, is the Juan De Fuca Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The chorus is open to men of all ages and abilities, with no tryouts required. “You can join a great organization helping to preserve an American tradition with a cappella barbershop harmony,” said Wyatt.

There will be a matinee performance at 2 p.m. and an evening show at 6:30 p.m. at Olympic Theatre Arts Center, 414 N.

Sequim Ave. Tickets are $20 general admission and $10 for youth. Tickets may be purchased at the door or at www.olympictheatrearts.org. The OTA box office is also open from 1-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.
