Operetta goes quirky dark with ‘The Addams Family’ musical

A ghoulishly good time comes to Sequim High School’s stage during the Irrigation Festival with “The Addams Family” musical comedy show.

Cast members said the show was slated to run in 2020 but canceled due to the pandemic. Now, students are dawning their goth garb, and dark senses of humor for the operetta with shows slated for 7 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, May 2-4, 9-11, and 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5. A costume contest is open to ticket-goers at the May 5 show.

All shows take place in the high school auditorium, 533 N. Sequim Ave., with tickets at the door, or in advance at sequimschools.org.

Tickets are $17, and $12 for ASB, and students 12 and under. Anna Pederson directs in partnership with Ghostlight Productions.

Read a feature on the show in the May 1 Sequim Gazette.
