OTA announces ‘Harvey’ cast

"Harvey" will open Nov. 7 and is scheduled to run through the Nov. 23 with performances on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

 

Olympic Theatre Arts has announced the cast for the upcoming production of “Harvey,” the popular comedy by Mary Chase that centers around an affable man who has an imaginary companion — a 6-foot rabbit named Harvey.

“Harvey” director Olivia Shea said, “This cast is quite unique in that it includes three married couples: Debbie and Brice Embree as Myrtle May Simmons and Duane Wilson, Lily and Miles Carignan as Ruth Kelly, R.N., and Lyman Sanderson, M.D., and Cheryl and Nick DiPietro as the maid and the cabbie.”

Also featured will be some familiar and popular OTA actors with Dave McInnes as Elwood P. Dowd and, after a 14-year absence from the stage, Elaine Caldwell as Mrs. Ethel Chauvenet.

Additional cast members include Angela Poynter-Lemaster as Veta Simmons, Joseph Schultz as Judge Gaffney and Brian Coughenour and Jane Millet as Dr. and Mrs. Chumley.

“Harvey” will open Nov. 7 and is scheduled to run through the Nov. 23 with performances on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. The $10 preview (free for OTA members) will be Nov. 6. A “pay what you will” performance has been scheduled for Nov. 13.Regular ticket prices are $16, or $14 for members and active military, and $10 for children under 16.

All performances will be at Olympic Theatre Arts Center, 414 N. Sequim Ave. in Sequim.
