OTA sets auditions for classic comedy

Olympic Theatre Arts hosts auditions in mid-August for the play, “The Man Who Came to Dinner,” by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart.

The popular comedic theatrical classic originally opened on Broadway in 1939 and has had numerous revivals and was adapted to the screen in 1942.

Auditions are at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, and 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Olympic Theatre Arts Center, 414 N. Sequim Ave.

The comedy has a large cast of characters with speaking roles for 11 men and nine women, ages 20-65. There also are non-speaking roles for three or four men.

A copy of the play is on reserve at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave., or available for review from the OTA business office.

Performance dates for the production are Oct. 30-Nov. 15.
