The Port Angeles Fine Arts Center is extending its "home" to offer a selection of holiday workshops where traditions and creativity go hand-in-hand.

• Día de los Muertos — The Day of the Dead
Learn about the sights and sounds of the Mexican people and create traditional arts and a yummy treat. Make a traditional sugar skull to display for years to come and decorate a tasty calavera (skeleton) cookie treat to eat right way.

Ages: 6 and up or younger (with an accompanying adult)
Fee: $7 for members, $10 for non-members
• Calavera Masks and Papel Picado
Decorate a traditional Day of the Dead papier-mâché calaveras (skeleton) mask. And, learn the art of traditional paper cutting (Papel Picado).

November workshops
• Cornucopia Sculptures & Spiced Nuts
Create a natural cornucopia sculpture for your holiday table decoration and accompanying spiced nuts to snack on while waiting for your Thanksgiving turkey.

Time/date: 2:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20
Ages: 8 and up or younger (with an accompanying adult)
Fee: $7 for members, $10 for non-members
• Ceramic Nature Coaster Tiles & Autumn Cookies
Using textures in nature, create a series of four ceramic coasters and decorate autumn cookies afterwards. Ceramic tiles are fired and ready for pick-up within two weeks.

• Ceramic Ornaments & Cookie Plates
Come and create unique holiday ornaments and a special cookie plate. Pieces are fired and ready for pick-up within two weeks.

• Holiday Goodies & Decorative Bags
Learn the art of making tasty treats and decorative bags to create affordable gifts for the holidays. Recipes are handed out at the end of class to carry on culinary traditions.
