The Port Townsend Film Festival recently announced its schedule for its 14th year.

Ninety films from 15 countries make up the weekend events Friday-Sunday, Sept. 20-22, with six indoor venues and one outdoor theater on Taylor Street.

Special guest Karen Allen announces the Friday evening’s outdoor movie “Starman” and appear at the Uptown Theatre on Saturday evening for a rare screening of “The Glass Menagerie” directed by Paul Newman.

On opening night, the event hosts three special events to choose from — mountaineer Lou Whittaker and filmmaker Laszlo Pal appear at the screening of the documentary “A Life in the Mountains … The Legacy of Lou Whittaker” at the Rose Theatre; “Big Joy: The Adventures of James Broughton” at the Uptown Theatre will have film critic Robert Horton interviewing producer Stephen Silha; and at The Broughton Theatre (Key City), “Defiant Requiem,” a documentary about a musical rebellion that took place in the concentration camp of Terezin, brings conductor Murry Sidlin to share his experiences of taking Verdi’s “Requiem” back to Terezin.
