Peninsula College offers community education classes in June

Peninsula College has a number of community education classes, from video production to food storage, poetry writing and hiking, starting in June.

• Field to Flask — 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, June 4, at Clallam Canning Company (3207 S. Maple St., Port Angeles)

Level up your food preservation skills in this hands-on workshop and make a rhubarb-nettle syrup using locally grown garden plants. Learn about safe food handling, harvest techniques, dehydration and more.

• Let the Video Tell Your Story — 2-6 p.m. Thursdays, June 8-29, at PC campus (1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles)

Need a short video to promote your business or non-profit? In this fast-paced class, create a short film from conception to completion with a professional filmmaker. All equipment is provided, with 1.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) available.

• Poetry Workshop — 9 a.m.-noon, Saturday, June 10, 9at PC campus (1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles)

In this three-hour workshop, gain an introduction to poetry and write some of your own with instructor support.

• Adventure Hikes on the Olympic Peninsula: Camp Handy — 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, June 17, at Upper Dungeness Trail

Take a stroll on the Upper Dungeness Trail through towering old growth Douglas-fir along the rushing Dungeness river with a Wilderness First Responder certified guide and learn or refresh your outdoor skills and knowledge.
