Peninsula College to host Healthy Communities Resource Fair

Get more information from a myriad local nonprofits and other organizations at the Healthy Community Resource Fair, scheduled for 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, in the Pirate Union Building at Peninsula College, 1502 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles.

This free event open to students, staff, faculty, and community members is designed to connect with various organizations providing essential services to meet basic needs in the community.

The fair will feature a diverse range of services including healthcare, recovery, employment, housing, food assistance, education and more. Attendees will have the chance to engage with several local organizations committed to enhancing community well-being, including:

• OlyCAP — strengthening communities in Clallam and Jefferson counties with equitable solutions and opportunities.

• North Olympic Healthcare Network — offering patient-centered, whole-person healthcare services, and a Mobile Health Clinic for counseling.

• The R.E.A.L. Team — focused on recovery, empowerment, advocacy, and linkage to improve lives.

• The Market: Cultivating a hunger-free community through service, education, and partnerships.

• WorkForce at Peninsula College — supporting Professional Technical field students overcome barriers to education and employment.

• WorkSource — a statewide partnership providing comprehensive employment and training services.

• First Step Family Support Center — providing essential support for families in child-raising through various programs.

• Serenity House of Clallam County — addressing homelessness and housing insecurity for vulnerable populations.

• Healthy Families of Clallam County — offering services for individuals and families affected by violence and abuse.

• League of Women Voters of Clallam County — promoting active participation in government and public policy education.

• Services for Students with Disabilities at PC — ensuring equal access and accommodations for all students.

In addition to the resource booths, the fair will host a series of Educational Resource Workshops in room J47, including: “Tools for Healthy Relationships,” 10-11 a.m.; “Mental Health Strategies,” 11 a.m.-noon; “Introduction to WorkSource Programs,” 2-3 p.m., and “Financial Capabilities,” 3-4 p.m.
