Peninsula College to offer more than $100K in scholarships

Beginning Jan. 22, the Peninsula College Foundation will offer over $100,000 in scholarships to students attending Peninsula College for the 2020-2021 school year.

Scholarships are available in the areas of: nursing and medical assisting; automotive technology, welding and other vocational programs; science; education; language arts; journalism; music; business administration, and more.

Scholarships are available for students with financial need, for academic achievement, and for area and tribal students, as well as first generation college students and others.

Application deadlines vary, with the majority due Sunday, April 19.

Applicants are advised to check each scholarship’s deadline.

To apply for Peninsula College Foundation scholarships:

• Visit www.theWashBoard.org

• Create a login and a personal profile, or update existing profile

• Enter “Peninsula College” in the search toolbar to review the list of all available PC and PC Foundation scholarships for the 2020-2021 school year

• Apply (note: there is no limit to the number of scholarships that an individual can apply for)

While the majority of Foundation scholarships open on Jan. 22, applicants are advised to check back often for other scholarships that may become available.

Students are encouraged to start the process early as many scholarships require letters of recommendation, personal essays, and unofficial transcripts. Applications that are incomplete or submitted after the scholarship deadline will not be accepted.

Award notifications for general scholarships will be provided to applicants beginning May 18. Applicants for nursing scholarships will be notified beginning July 20.

For more information about the scholarships process, call the Peninsula College Foundation at 360-417-6246 or visit www.pencol.edu/scholarships.
