A full media room at The Lodge at Sherwood Village on July 26 are treated to a reading from Aaron Elkins’ latest book (still in the works). He and his wife Charlotte, also an author, spent the better part of an hour talking to and about writing and publishing books and taking questions from the crowd of potential writers and authors themselves at a Fourth Friday Reading event. At the readings, members of the audience also read five-minute clips of their own works. Fourth Friday Readings are at The Lodge, 660 Evergreen Farm Way, starting at 6:15 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring poes, short stories or memoir/novel snippets (rehearse in advance, as readings are timed). Get guildelines at Heidi@olypen.com. The next event is Aug. 23. Photo by Bob Lampert
