This year’s Find Your Voice Play Festival, held in Peninsula College’s Little Theater June 3–11, spotlights eccentric characters inspired by Northwest local yokels.

Now in its 10th year, the Find Your Voice Play Festival invited students and community members to submit plays for consideration on the show’s theme and the most peculiar among them were selected for this year’s theme, “Eccentrics of the Northwest.”

“Maybe it’s because we are out here on the northwestern most part of the U.S., maybe it’s because we’re isolated on a peninsula and forced to get along with other people that we disagree with, maybe it’s because marijuana is legal, maybe it’s because the grayer weather predisposes people to hibernate more and nurture eccentricities and maybe it’s because of all the fluoride in the water,” show organizer Dr. Lara Starcevich said.

Show dates are June 3-4 and June 10-11 with excerpts featured at PC’s Studium Generale on June 9. Show times are 7:30 p.m. The show is intended for mature audiences only, as some content may not be suitable for children. Tickets are available at misfit.brownpapertickets.com.
