Poet Charlotte Gould Warren returns to the Peninsula College stage on Thursday, June 1, to celebrate her newest poetry manuscript, “Dangerous Bodies,” which recently was published by the Stephen F. Austin (SFA) College University Press in Texas.

PC’s Studium Generale and the Foothills Writers Series will host Warren at 12:35 p.m. in The Little Theater. This event is free and open to the public.

Warren received her MFA in Writing from Vermont College and taught part time at Peninsula College. She and her husband have called the Olympic Peninsula home for more than 50 years.

SFA Press also published her memoir, “Jumna: Sacred River,” which chronicles her childhood in India during its fight for independence from Great Britain in 1947, and her coming of age in the United States as it entered the turbulent sixties.

An earlier poetry collection, “Gandhi’s Lap,” won the Washington Prize and publication by Word Works in Washington, D.C. Previous manuscripts have been finalists in the Phillip Levine and Ashland national contests.

Her poems have appeared on Seattle buses as well as in journals such as Orion, Calyx, The Hawai’i Pacific Review, The Louisville Review and Kansas Quarterly.
