Radio forum to spotlight the ‘Power of Collaboration’

Members of the Sequim Health and Housing Collaborative (SHHC) will present “The Power of Collaboration,” a WOW! Working on Wellness radio forum set for 2-3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, on KSQM 91.5 FM.

Speakers from Peninsula Behavioral Health, Sequim Food Bank, Olympic Community Action Programs, Healthy Families of Clallam County, and Dungeness Valley Health and Wellness Clinic will speak about what each of these SHHC members bring to help families in our community.

In response to a request by the City of Sequim in the fall 0f 2018, these organizations banded together. They focus on five areas set out by the City of Sequim: physical health; behavioral health; sheltering; substance use, and food insecurity. SHHC is creating a unique network that promotes community health and offers pathways to housing in a synergistic and unified approach.

WOW! Working on Wellness is a health education program of Dungeness Valley Health & Wellness Clinic — Sequim’s free clinic, which provides basic urgent care and chronic health care services to uninsured community members. Work is supported by more than 70 volunteers including physicians, other professional health care providers and laypersons, as well as private and public donations.

The Basic Urgent Care Clinic is open to patients on Monday and Thursday evenings beginning at 5 p.m. Individuals interested in supporting the clinic may call 360-582-0218.
