Head Start, Early Head Start and ECEAP are recruiting eligible children and families for the 2024-2025school year in Sequim, Port Angeles, Port Townsend, Forks, Port Hadlock and Chimacum, representatives with Olympic Community Action Programs (OlyCAP) announced recently.

There are no costs for low-income families or children who may be over the income guidelines but have a special need or disability.

The various programs provide meals, transportation support, educational and social/health services for eligible children without regard to race, gender or national origin. Parent involvement is actively encouraged and is critical to the success of the program, OlyCAP representatives said.

The programs accept applications year-round for all services and maintain ongoing wait lists.

These preschool programs offer part-day, full-day and home-based services in Sequim and Port Angeles for prenatal up to 5 years of age, full-day services for ages 1-5 in Port Townsend, and for ages 3-5 in Forks, Chimacum and throughout the rest of Jefferson County.
