Rock club sets Spring Open House

All “rockhounds” and “rock lovers” are invited to the Clallam County Gem & Mineral Association’s shop and lapidary classroom for a Spring Open House set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at 81 Hooker Road, Unit 5, in Carlsborg.

Club members will be on hand to show the shop where group members learn how to cut and polish stones. Class instructors also will be available to explain various classes offered by the club, including metal smith, wire wrap, chain maille, faceting, beading and rock painting. Learn how to convert rocks to beautiful gemstone cabochons.

The club is a nonprofit organized for educational activity in the science of geology as it relates to the discovery of rock, mineral and fossils; the art of lapidary to enhance rocks’ natural beauty and the promotion of rocks and “rock hounding” through information and special programs.
