Eric Mahnerd, community service director of Sequim Sunrise Rotary Club, presents a check for $1,000 to Janet Gray of the Boys &Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula at a recent Rotary meeting.

The donation helps fund the Back to School Backpack Program and will be used for purchasing backpacks for children who cannot afford them.

Sequim Sunrise Rotary made an additional donation of $866 to the Boys &Girls Club to help fund its Care Closet Program which provides clothing items to needy children such as shoes, jackets and other clothing necessities.
