Thursday, Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. will be when the last “Walk About” tour of the season will take place at Woodcock Demonstration Gardens, 2711 Woodcock Road in Sequim.
The event is free.
Attendees can pick up a self-guided tour brochure to help them navigate the gardens alongside the presenters.
The highlight for October is the Clallam County Master Gardeners’ orchard garden full of apples, pears and cherries that do well in the Olympic Peninsula’s environment. Guests will also see some surprising new fruits the Master Gardeners are experimenting with.
Much has been happening in the orchard with expansion of new structures and more fruit. Master Gardeners will guide tour guests through the orchard and answer their questions. Woodcock has over 22 themed gardens and each of them will be on display for viewing.
The dahlias are bursting with color, and the vegetable gardens help supply the Sequim Food Bank.
