The SHS flamingo flocks are back! Starting March 4, Sequim residents may find a flock of flamingos visiting their yard. Once again, parents of Sequim High School seniors are fundraising for the annual Safe and Sober Grad Party that follows the SHS gradation in June.
Those who find a flock of plastic flamingos in their yard will find one with a pouch around the lead flamingo’s neck, and inside is a letter with detailed instructions about how to help the fundraiser.
Those “flocked” are asked to consider donating … and for an extra $10 they can request that the flamingos fly to a family member or friend. Flocks “visit” properties for about 24 hours. People are encouraged to take photos of themselves with he flock and post to social media.
Those who wish to not be flocked are asked to email Leeah Faris at leeahfaris@icloud.com by Feb. 29.
Program organizers will take tagged pictures (or those emailed to Sequimgradnight2024@gmail.com) and post them to a Facebook or Instagram page.
The fundraiser is organized by a nonprofit and is not affiliated with the Sequim School District. All donations are tax-deductible. Checks can be made payable to: Sequim Grad Party.
