Sequim Museum & Arts hosts Olympic Peaks Camera Club exhibit

The Olympic Peaks Camera Club’s 25 years of celebrating and supporting local photography comes into focus in September with a month-long exhibition at Sequim Museum &Arts.

Members will display their craft from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday, Sept. 1-30, at the museum’s downtown center, 175 W. Cedar St.

The exhibition celebrates the Olympic Peninsula’s diverse terrain, from beaches to majestic mountains, and highlights an abundance of flora, animals and wildlife.

An opening reception is set for 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1, as part of Sequim’s First Friday Art Walk. (Read more about the Art Walk on page B-8.)

“Our club encourages friendship, quality photography and personal growth through interest in and enhancement of photographic skills,” club members said in a press release. “Members share their photos, learn new techniques and become better photographers by participating in friendly competitions critiqued by experienced photographers; hearing guest speakers; attending workshops; and setting off on photo field trips.” See olympicpeaks.org/news/.
