The Sequim City Band and the Port Townsend Summer Band host a joint concert at 3 p.m. on Sept. 7 at the Chimacum High School auditorium.

Last summer, the Port Townsend Band was a guest at one of the Sequim City Band’s concerts and invited their counterpart to return the honor this year.

Karl Bach leads the Port Townsend Summer Band while Tyler Benedict leads the Sequim Band. Both bands will play separately, then combine for several pieces. These include “The Sequim Centennial March” (composed by Karl Bach), a medley of Glenn Miller favorites, the “Intermezzo” from Cavaliera Rusticana by Mascagni and “Stars and Stripes Forever” by Sousa.

The Sequim City Band will be playing “March of the Belgian Paratroopers,” “Where Lark and Eagle Never Flew” and “Miss Trombone, a Slippery Rag.”

The Sequim City Band’s next concert will be Sept. 21. More details will be announced at a future date.
