Sequim’s Rotary salmon bake another success

The Rotary Club of Sequim — with the helping hands of several Sequim Sunrise Rotarians — hosted more than 550 hungry community members at a fun-filled day during the 2017 Salmon Bake &BBQ at the Sequim Boys &Girls Club on Aug. 13.

This was the 49th con-secutive year for this dinner and it has become an annual event for Sequim residents and visitors alike. Next year’s 50th celebration is in the planning stages now.

With a choice of salmon or pulled pork sandwiches, attendees were treated to the music of The Cat’s Meow and Dukes of Dabob, won raffle prizes and received information from local nonprofits at a vendor mall.

This year’s sponsors included Hitchbridge Management Services, Sequim Health and Rehabilitation, the Jones Sunshine Fund and the YMCA.

Proceeds from this event will be spent in support of many local charities including the Boys &Girls Club, Dictionaries for Fourth Graders, executing of the Irrigation Festival Parade and more.
