DISTRICT

The Sequim School District has a newly-redesigned and reorganized website: check out www.sequimschools.org.

The next school board meeting is 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, in the district boardroom, 503 N. Sequim Ave. The public is invited to attend, and time is set aside for public comment. To view the agenda and minutes of past meetings and click on “School Board,” “Regular Communication” and “Agendas” on the district’s website at www.sequimschools.org.

The Sequim School District’s teacher-librarians invite all students and their families to attend the Annual Family Reading Night on Jan. 23 at Sequim Middle School. The event hosts an array of fun activities focused on literacy, and all students — pre-K through 12th graders — will leave with a free book at the end of the evening.

HELEN HALLER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Kelly Miller’s and Gwendolyn Rudzinski’s first-grade classes had a visit from the Sequim Fire Department. Students enjoyed learning about fire safety and how to prevent fires in their homes. We were so thankful to the fire department for their willingness to educate our youth.

SEQUIM HIGH SCHOOL

Sequim High School’s Martin Luther King Assembly will be on Friday, Jan. 18, at 10 a.m. in the school gymnasium. Keith Davis is the guest speaker and the public is invited.

With a theme of “Fire & Ice,” the school’s Winter Ball is from 8-11 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, in the high school cafeteria.
