The Hurricane Ridge Winter Sports Club, along with the Hurricane Ridge Ski Team, host Ethan Strahan and his talk on “Natural Intelligence” — the third talk in the Outdoor Adventure Series — at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at Studio Bob, 118 E Front St., Port Angeles.
Strahan is an outdoor enthusiast who spent several years adventuring in the North Olympic Peninsula outdoors, with a primary interest in splitboarding around the Hurricane Ridge vicinity as well as fishing for salmon and steelhead on coastal streams.
In his talk, Strahan explores the science of how time spent outdoors and exposure to the processes and rhythms of nature influence the degree of intelligence and health an individual achieves. Through a discussion involving topics such as biophysics, pattern recognition, circadian biology and personal experience, Strahan seeks to help listeners gain a deeper understanding of the human connection to nature and the importance of spending time outdoors as it relates to intelligence, health and other aspects of life.
Cost is a suggested donation of $10.
