Strings and Poetry

Just in time to share with your valentine is Andre Feriante, a virtuoso guitar and ukulele player, who presents “Poetry of Strings,” a dynamic and romantic musical journey on multiple stringed instruments, from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9, at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center. Included in this performance will be his new love, the nylon stringed banjo which sounds like an old world lute, oud or baroque guitar. He also will perform his signature song-poems which is poetry spoken over a bed of music, and draw his song-poems from his own poetry but also from Rumi, Lorca and Neruda. Feriante also will perform flamenco songs, jazz standards, original music and vocals in Italian. Feriante has released 13 solo recordings in his career; the latest three albums are “Novella,” “Ukulele Mosaique” and “Beatles Masquerade.” These and other selections will be available for purchase at the concert. Tickets are available on the PAFAC web site: www.pafac.org. Tickets are $15 for PAFAC members, $20 for non-members. Tickets will be sold at the door but seating is limited. Submitted photo
