Looking for some help spreading a little holiday cheer to its canine guests this year, the Welfare For Animals Guild nonprofit group has Giving Trees set up across the community.
The trees — located at 1st Security National Bank, Sound Community Bank and Kitsap Bank branches in Sequim and Port Angeles — each feature picture ornaments of dogs at the ranch. A list of particular items is listed on the back of their ornament. People can pick one or multiple ornaments of the rescue dog(s) they would like to help, shop for the requested items, and return them with the dog’s names to any Giving Tree location.
Or, they can drop off their presents at the Halfway Home Ranch, 751 McComb Road.
A third option is they can bring items to one of the three pick-up days at different locations, where the WAG van and Sequim Irrigation princess Brii Hingtgen will be there to accept donations:
• 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Petco (parking lot), 1205 W. Washington St.
• 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13th, at QFC (storefront sidewalk area), 990 E. Washington St.
• 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at Best Friend Nutrition Natural Pet Market (storefront sidewalk area), 680 W. Washington St.
A “digital” version of the Giving Trees is available online at the WAG website: www.wagsequimwa.com.
New dogs are posted at the website as well as the WAG Facebook page at www.facebook.com/wagsequim.
