Take a step to the Sequim side of life

Great Pumpkin/harvest moon/candy corn orange is the theme color of this month’s First Friday Art Walk, 5-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, in downtown Sequim. Many participants enjoy wearing a bit — or a lot— of the theme color as they make the rounds of venues offering snacks, music, mingling and a world of terrific art. • The Sequim Library features the work of watercolorist Robert Lee. At the First Friday reception, vocalist Kate Lily provides live music.

 

• Crumb Grabbers Bakery shows Robert Haspel’s photographs at 492 W. Cedar St.

 

• The Laff Pack Clowns bring smiles, magic and balloon artistry in front of the Museum & Arts Center, 175 W. Cedar St., or about town.

 

• Inside the MAC is “Long Yarns — Fiber Art Stories, Fables & Lessons,” the juried fiber art show of the weekend’s North Olympic Fiber Arts Festival in Sequim.

 

• Experience artwork by Randy and Sallie Radock and music by Bill Volmut at Wind Rose Cellars, 155-B W. Cedar St.

 

• At 157 W. Cedar St., Rainshadow Coffee Roasting Company has John Vass’s nature photography.

 

• The Red Rooster Grocery, 134½ W. Washington St., features art by professional illustrator Patricia Heflin in honor of GMO Awareness Month.

 

• Doodlebugs Scrapbooking holds a "Happy Hour" from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at its Creative Café Art Bar, 138 W. Washington St.

 

• Photographs by Ken Beale and Dr. Thomas Clark’s "retired gnomes" statuary are at The Dove’s Nest Inc., 139 W. Washington St.

 

• Pacific Mist Books hosts local artist Jean Wyatt and local author Buc Keene as he kicks off the second book in the "The Kind of Western I’d Like to Read" series; along with tastings from Cameron’s Cafe and Custom Catering and chocolates by Cocoa d’Amici at 121 W. Washington St.

 

• Blue Whole Gallery, 129 W. Washington St., showcases watercolor artist Reggie Consani and photographer Larry Barnes.

 

• Aaron Kuntze’s “Illusionary Abstractions” are on view at The Sunshine Café, 145 W Washington St., along with the fine art and cartoons of Tim Quinn. Sample Chef’s Choice snacks on First Friday.

 

• That Takes the Cake offers artful sweets at 171 W. Washington St.

 

• Pondicherri hosts the vocal talents of Judy Clark — a variety of styles at 119 E. Washington St. Come and sing along.

 

• Dungeness Bay Wine & Cheese features "country blues" artist Thom Davis at 123 E. Washington St.

 

• Gallery on the Walls in the Sequim Vision Center, 128 E. Washington St., showcases Sally Cays and Patricia Taynton.

 

• New venue R&T Crystals and Beads, 158 E. Bell, will have jewelry demonstrations from Paulette Hill and D’Ann Gonzales.

 

• Full Moon Candle Co. at 161 W. Washington St. features many local artists.

 

• Prairie Springs Assisted Living is exhibiting Sunny Benham’s artwork at 680 W. Prairie St.

 

• View Linda Parcell’s photographs at KeyBank, 120 N. Dunlap Ave.
