Tidepools Magazine announced this week the winners of the 2021 art and writing contest.
“Thank you to all who were fearless enough to contribute your creative works,” Tidepools staff said in a press release. “We received so many quality submissions, we wish we had space to publish them all.”
Editors are still reviewing submissions for inclusion in the 2021 issue, they said, so those not named winners may still be selected for publication.
Tidepools Magazine has been published annually at Peninsula College for more than 50 years and features original fine art, digital art, photography, poetry, short prose, and music created by residents of the North Olympic Peninsula. The magazine is typically run and edited by Peninsula College students with support from the Associated Student Council, the Peninsula Daily News and The Buccaneer.
Teams of judges included local artists, writers, photographers, musicians, and educators from the community and who volunteered their time to select winners.
The newest issue is slated for release in May and will be available in local bookstores across the Olympic Peninsula.
“We’re excited about the possibility of holding an in-person awards ceremony this June; details are forthcoming,” Tidepools staff said.
