Tour De Dungeness set for March 11

The riders are returning. An expected 400-450 bicycle riders from across the region are expected to enjoy competition in the Tour De Dungeness, a multi-division bicycle race, on Saturday, March 11.

Riders in different categories race multiple laps on a 12-mile course that includes Lotzgesell, Cays, East Anderson, Sequim-Dungeness Way, Woodcock and Kitchen-Dick roads.

Races start at 9:45 a.m. and continue through the afternoon, rain or shine.

Residents and travelers in the Dungeness area on that day are asked to be aware of possible traffic delays, event organizers note.

“Use caution, be patient and let’s show them that we are a bicycle-friendly community,” organizers said in a press release.

Parking for the event is at Jardin du Soleil Lavender Farm & Gift Shop, 3932 Sequim-Dungeness Way — a new location.

The event went on hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021 but returned for competition in 2022.
