Veterans Corner: Busy summer for veterans!

The Marine Corps League, Mount Olympus Detachment #897 has an Honor Guard that performs honors at funerals, the last Friday of the month Bell Ringing and other military events. Jay McFarland, an associate member has accepted the offer to become the Detachment Honor Guard bugler. Her husband, Jeff, also an associate member and the Detachment Chaplain, is a member of the Honor Guard.

This is one of many activities with which the detachment is involved: they conduct the Toys For Tots drive, participate in parades, give scholarships, etc. Marines can become members and others interested in supporting the Detachment can be associate members.
