VHOCC gets $5K Walkling grant

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County recently received $5,000 from the Ben and Myrtle Walkling Memorial Trust to help purchase personal protective equipment (PPE), safety equipment for the organization’s delivery vans and nursing supplies for its patients, representatives said last week.

“We are very grateful for these funds,” volunteer services manager Astrid Raffinpeloz said.

“This award will ensure the continued delivery of services to the community that VHOCC excels in.”

The trust was established in 1992 to encourage charitable and civic projects that might otherwise not happen.

VHOCC has been offering hospice care, grief support and educational programs to the local community free of charge since 1978.
