Volunteer Hospice grief group starts March 12 in Port Angeles

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County is offering a grief support group starting Tuesday, March 12, and running for seven consecutive weeks through April 23.

The group meets from 2-3:30 p.m. at Hospice House, 810 S. Albert St., Port Angeles.

Facilitating the group is Sally Featherstone, whose professional nursing career focused on the care of persons impacted with all manner of losses from personal losses related to jobs, family and divorce to loss of body functions and ultimately death.

Additional grief support groups are scheduled in the coming months, starting May 6, and Sept. 23 in Sequim; and June 18 in Port Angeles.

Although there is no charge, space is limited and participants must pre-register with the VHOCC office by calling 360-452-1511.

A community nonprofit, VHOCC does not charge for any of its services. In addition to hospice care, part of VHOCC’s mission is to offer grief support groups to anyone in the community who has experienced the death of a loved one.
