Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County workshop deals with ‘Living Alone Now’

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County will host a “Living Alone Now” workshop from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at Hospice House, 810 S. Albert St., Port Angeles.

The workshop is designed to assist those experiencing a recent transition to preparing meals for one because of the loss of a life partner. Dr. Carolyn DeSalvo and Rosalinda Castiglioni will offer tips for shopping in small quantities, varied and nutritional menus, ready-made options and use and storage of leftovers.

The workshop is free and open to the public. As space is limited, pre-registration is required by calling 360-452-1511 or emailing vsm@vhocc.org.

Operating with a team of registered nurses and trained volunteers, the nonprofit Volunteer Hospice supports terminally ill patients and their families emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Ongoing grief support services and loan of medical equipment are also available to anyone in the community. The organization does not charge for its services and does not bill any government agency, depending instead on private donations and bequests.
