Volunteer Hospice offers orientations for new volunteers

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County offers monthly orientations for those interested in learning more about or volunteering with the organization.

There will be an online session from 11 a.m.-noon on Thursday, Dec. 2; register by calling 360-452-1511 or emailing to vsm@vhocc.org to get the Zoom link.

In-person sessions have been suspended until further notice, but phone appointments can be arranged with the VHOCC volunteer services manager at 360-406-4439.

The most urgent needs, organization representatives say, are for delivery team volunteers (vehicle provided) and the lending closet assistants in Port Angeles. VHOCC also welcomes volunteers interested in doing clerical and data entry.

Since 1978, VHOCC has been providing free hospice services to patients and their families in Clallam County from Diamond Point to Joyce. Part of VHOCC’s mission is to offer grief support groups, not only to families of hospice patients, but to anyone in the community who has experienced the death of a loved one.
