Volunteer Hospice sets ‘Survivor Workshops’ series

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County is offering its bi-annual series, “Survivors Workshops: Practical Advice to Living Alone,” set 1:30-3 p.m. for four consecutive Thursdays at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake St., starting on Oct. 5.

Each of the workshops is designed to assist participants with dealing with everyday problems that might arise living alone and confronting daily living after the loss of a loved one.

Community members can attend any or all, as best fits their needs.

The series kicks off Oct. 5 with “Cooking For One”, with a presentation by Carolyn DeSalvo and Rosalinda Castiglioni. On Oct. 12, Mark Harvey of Clallam County Agency on Aging will answer questions, and Phil Castell of Castell Insurance will addresses financial management. The focus for the Oct. 19 workshop is “Home and Car Maintenance” with Michael Bucierka. The series finished Oct. 26 with “Self-Care” with Debby Smith and Rev. Maggie Bourne-Raiswell.

The series is free to the public but registration is necessary; call 360-452-1511.
