WaFd donation drive to benefit Healthy Families

WaFd Bank recently started off a donation drive for Healthy Families of Clallam County to help support the organization’s efforts to provide crisis and support services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse.

Donations are being collected at the WaFd Bank Sequim branch at 191 W. Washington St. and other local businesses throughout the month of March.

WaFd Bank’s Washington Federal Foundation is also awarding the organization a $10,000 grant to support its wide ranging services.“We’re proud to support Healthy Families of Clallam County, providing critical services to our community members in need and adding to the health and vibrancy of our community,” WaFd Bank branch manager Ashley Stroble said.

”As a bank committed to the communities we call home, we’re excited to help throughout the month of March by gathering donations for Healthy Families at our Sequim branch to support the important work they do.”

The community is encouraged to bring donations of full-size shampoo and conditioner, laundry soap, new bedding, deodorant, new towels and washcloths, Brita water pitchers and toilet paper to the Sequim WaFd Bank branch.

Donations will be accepted throughout the month between 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Healthy Families of Clallam County office, 1210 E. Front St., Port Angeles, as well as at the 2023 KONP Home Show at Port Angeles High School, 304 E. park Ave., set for March 18-19.

Healthy Families of Clallam County provides services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and all other crimes, and serves eastern and central Clallam County. Each year the organization provides crisis intervention services, shelter, transitional housing, therapy, advocacy-based counseling, support groups, legal advocacy, medical advocacy, system advocacy, classes, support services and referrals for child and adult victims/survivors of domestic, sexual violence and child abuse.

The agency works tirelessly to end all forms of violence and encourage perpetrator accountability through advocacy, education, system coordination, and social change.
