4-H award winners

Alexa Asselin and Daniel Fink hold up the awards they received at the 4-H awards presentation for Clallam County on Nov. 7 at the Sequim Elks Club. The presentation is held each fall at the end of the 4-H year. The Clallam County 4-H Leaders Council presented the awards. Asselin, secretary of the Dogs Inc. club, received awards for the Best Club Record Book and Junior Leader of the Year. Fink won Teen Leader of the Year, the Leadership Medal, Best Small Animal Record Book and the Janet Fry Outstanding 4-Her Award. Both Fink and Asselin spent about four hours a week helping fellow club members train their dogs. They are both members of the Dog Inc. club’s dog drill team that performed at the Clallam County Fair, the Jefferson County Fair, the Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club show, Welfare for Animals Guild dog walk and the Port Angeles Fourth of July parade.
