51st salmon bake set for Sunday

It’s time for Rotary’s annual Salmon Bake charity fundraiser.

The Rotary Club of Sequim presents its 51st-annual Salmon Bake on Sunday, Aug. 11, at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St. The party begins at noon and finishes at 4 p.m.

Bring your whole family for a happy afternoon of fun. Choose either an alder-fired wild salmon or special Sequim recipe barbecue pork meal with fresh crisp salad, a roll, ice cream dessert and coffee or soft drink. Hot dog meals are available for children 12 and younger.

Come early with family and friends. Eat, laugh and enjoy a Sunday afternoon of toe-tapping live music and raffles. For entertainment, the Dukes of Dabob serve up classic Dixieland jazz and swing beginning at 11:45 a.m. The Cat’s Meow follows at 2 p.m. with selections from our Great American Songbook.

Raffles are set all afternoon; players need not be present to win. Discover what Rotary’s famous “4-Way Test” means at the club’s exhibit, and see local charities on display.

Tickets are $18 each at the door; however, discount tickets are available today for $16 each at www.sequimrotary.org. Pre-sale tickets are also available from Sequim Noon Rotarians, Sequim Boys & Girls Club and the Sequim YMCA, Thomas Building Center, Beal Carpet & Drapery or the Sequim Chamber of Commerce. Hot dog tickets for children 12 and younger are $5 each at the door.

The salmon bake proceeds help Sequim students, Sequim Boys & Girls Club, Sequim Education Foundation classroom grants for teachers, Sequim Orthopedic Guild for Seattle Children’s Hospital and local Rotary youth projects, such as the club’s successful Adaptive Bike Program.
