A Dungeness Memorial Day

Local veteran groups led and helped with services at Sequim area Memorial Day services on May 30.

Sequim VFW Post 4760 led a service at Sequim View Cemetery Cemetery followed by American Legion Post 62 holding services at Jamestown, Dungeness and Blue Mountain cemeteries.

American Legion Post 62 Commander Paul Renick said legion members and volunteers and BSA Troop 90 members posted about 900 American flags on veterans grave sites on May 28.

For the American Legion’s services, there was a prayer, a memorial wreath placed with an opportunity for others to share flowers/wreaths, and “Taps” was played with a salute to the flag.

VFW Post 6787 members also supported a ceremony at Gardiner Cemetery.
