Agencies, local governments to talk ‘Hopes and hurdles’

Taking responsibility for homelessness is the theme of the 2017 Annual Planning Forum on Ending Homelessness, set for 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, in the downstairs fellowship hall of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 301 Lopez Ave., Port Angeles.

Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.

“Hopes and hurdles,” a conversation between service agencies and local government, is the centerpiece of the event that is sponsored by the Shelter Providers Network of Clallam County.

Building on the theme of “Holding Feet to the Fire: Taking Responsibility for Our County,” the agenda also includes “The Face of Clallam Poverty” with keynote speaker Cheri Tinker of the North Olympic Regional Veterans Housing Network; “For More Housing” with Peninsula Housing Authority Director Kay Kassinger; a panel on “The Housing-Employment Connection” and Serenity House Executive Director Doc Robinson on “Turning Talk into Results.”

A resource table will be available for sharing informational handouts.

Participants are invited to bring items to share for morning refreshments. TAFY will provide a lasagna lunch.

The forum is free and open to the public. RSVPs are appreciated to shelterprovidersnetwork@gmail.com.
