Those out on Clallam County beaches on July 4 will hear Winchester chimes sounding for 10 seconds at noon.

This monthly test of the six All Hazard Alert Broadcast sirens in the county will be followed by a voice message declaring that the siren is a test, with instructions as to what to do in case of a true emergency siren.

Currently, the AHAB sirens to be tested are positioned in LaPush, Neah Bay, Clallam Bay, Lower Elwha, west Port Angeles, Dungeness and Diamond Point.

Clallam County invites citizens who hear the siren test to call in information regarding the chimes, the voice announcement, if they saw the blue light blinking at the top of the siren and where they were when they heard the test siren.

Citizens can leave information throughout Monday and Tuesday following the test siren with Clallam County Emergency Management at 417-2525 This input helps Clallam County continue to be a tsunami-ready county.
