Christie Lassen of Wild Birds Unlimited, Gardiner, will present the Nov. 8 program for the Backyard Birding series presented by the Olympic Peninsula Audubon Society.

Her presentation covers general bird feeding, including types of feeders and feeds for attracting specific birds with an emphasis on our over-wintering species. She will include specific ideas for providing continuing winter water supplies and meeting the needs of Anna’s Hummingbirds which have started staying here throughout the year.

This class is the second in the series presented by OPAS. All sessions are at the Dungeness River Audubon Center in Railroad Bridge Park from 10 a.m.-noon. The public is invited to attend any or all of the eight sessions. For adults over age 18 a $5 fee will be payable for each class. After five classes are attended, a free year of membership in OPAS will be offered. The next class on Jan. 10 is “Birds: The Inside Story,” a discussion of features unique to birds.
