“It was like a scene out of ‘The Wizard of Oz,’” said Stephen Stratton.

Late on Wednesday, Nov. 18, high winds blew a two-car, aluminum garage more than 300 feet from a neighbor’s property onto Stratton’s property.

He and his wife, Barbara, went onto their home’s porch off Old Olympic Highway to find the garage had crashed through their fence and hit a yard light.

Stratton described the sound as an explosion.

The barn barely missed the family dog Amanda, who they found crawling out from the wreck.
“We are glad no one was hurt,” Stratton said.

He is optimistic his insurance will cover the damages, adding, “As a ‘Wizard of Oz’ experience goes, yes Dorothy, I do believe.”
