A bicyclist was killed at State Route 19 and Four Corners Road in Jefferson County on Aug. 25 after she was struck by a vehicle.

According to a Washington State Patrol report, Esther M. Machado, 38, of Tacoma, was riding southbound on the shoulder of State Route 19 when a 1999 Ford Expedition driven by Jeremy J. Morris, 40, of Port Townsend, left the roadway and struck the bicyclist. Machado was declared deceased at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation and charges are pending as of press time.
