Bluegrass for a good cause

First Step presents fundraising concert

For the sixth year in a row, a handful of peninsula-area bands have stepped to provide a night of toe-tapping music to help out Clallam County families.

First Step Family Support Center, a United Way agency, is presenting Snowgrass 2008 at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Port Angeles High School auditorium.

Five bands — Deadwood Revival, Luck of the Draw, Loose Gravel, Kentucky Bullfrog and Voodoo Mountain String Band — will provide a night of bluegrass favorites and original pieces.

All proceeds go to First Step, which has provided parent education, family support and child development programs to thousands of families since 1971.

Tickets for Snowgrass 2008 can be purchased at Pacific Mist Books, in Sequim, Port Book and News and KONP, in Port Angeles. For more information, contact Cherie at 457-8355 or cherie_fstep@olypen.com.
