Burn ban extended

Due to an increase in wildland fires in Washington and continued dry weather conditions in Clallam County, the annual burn ban will continue indefinitely beyond Oct. 1.

County Fire Marshal Sheila Roark Miller urges residents to control potential ignition sources on their properties, including recreational fires, cigarette butts and broken glass.

Contact the local fire district for more information about any burn permits that have been issued already, in anticipation of the lifting of the burn ban.
