Bank celebrates customers

Customer Appreciation Day on Friday, Feb. 12, includes home-baked refreshments and prizes throughout the day at First Federal branches in Sequim, Port Angeles, Forks and Port Townsend.

Tatro granted fellowship

The American College of Surgeons granted fellowship honors to Dr. Sandra Tatro, a general surgeon.

Fellowship applicants must be graduates of an approved medical school, have completed advanced training in one of 14 surgical specialties and meet other standards.

Tatro, a member of Olympic Medical Center’s medical staff, received a medical doctorate degree in 1996 from the University of New Mexico and attained board certification from the American Board of Surgery in 2004. She holds membership in the American Society of Breast Surgeons.

We Love Sequim

Valentine’s Day is coming, and the Blue Whole Gallery, 129 W. Washington St., has hung up banners proclaiming, "We Love Sequim." Inside, artists have filled the gallery with pictures that depict scenes of Sequim and the Dungeness Valley, plus a large painting of the Sequim elk. The gallery is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday.

Cedarbrook Lavender & Herb Farm gift shop, 1345 S. Sequim Ave., has decorated for Valentine’s Day and offers a variety of Valentine gifts, including new floral designs. The shop is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Cedarbrook will hold a Valentine high tea at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, plus a Valentine dinner from 5-8 p.m. that day if enough people request it. Dog training continues

Judith Bell continues her "The Trainer is In!" program from noon-2 p.m. Wednesdays at Best Friend Nutrition, 680 W. Washington St., Sequim.

Bell, co-owner of BeauJes Dog Training and Kennels in Gardiner, gives consultations about dog behavior. A donation to a designated pet rescue group is recommended.

Pet adoptions

Olympic Peninsula Humane Society’s mobile pet adoption facility will available from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. today, Wednesday, Feb. 10, in the parking lot near Best Friend Nutrition, 680 W. Washington, Sequim.

Kittens, cats, dogs and possibly rabbits or pocket pets will be available, along with information on volunteer opportunities and ways to support the humane society. Call 681-8458.

Don Marshall speaks on "The Basics of Landscape Pruning" at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at McComb Gardens, 751 McComb Road. The seminar is free.
