First Federal, Entrepreneuer Institute and the Incubator@Lincoln Center present free workshops about understanding and accepting change to ensure business survival and success.

Cath Mich, a transitions coach with a master’s degree in counseling, is the workshop facilitator.

Liane McGarvie, MHA, an employee of Olympic Medical Center in Post Angeles, is the recipient of an educational grant from the ASHRM Foundation. This award recognizes McGarvie as an individual pursuing individual achievement of professional excellence in the health care risk management field.

ASHRM Foundation grant awardees must meet the application criteria in the areas of current employment in the finance, insurance or health care risk management field, and provide a financial need for funding and a letter of recommendation.

Opportunities to cast votes that could win a "hero" award for Port Angeles civic leader Gary Colley and $5,000 for North Olympic Land Trust end at 5 p.m. Friday, June 19. One vote per person is available by logging onto www.coxconservesheroes.com and selecting the Seattle market page, which has a link to the voting page.

Colley was selected as one of five finalists for Cox Conserves Heroes after being nominated by local land trust executive director Greg Good and interviewed by a representative of KIRO TV, an affiliate of the co-sponsors, Cox Communications and Trust for Public Lands.

Colley said he agreed to be nominated because he wants to help the Land Trust with fundraising by donating the $5,000 to the nonprofit organization if he should win.
