Community shredding event
The Port Angeles Eastside branch of First Federal, 1603 E. First St., hosts a free community shredding event from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 24.
Individuals are encouraged to bring sensitive paper for shredding on site by LeMay Mobile Shredding, a professional shredding company.
Types of documents to bring include old tax returns and account statements or any paperwork with account or Social Security numbers or other personal information.
First Federal security personnel will be on hand to answer questions and provide information on identity theft.

Dungeness Kids Fair
The Dungeness Kids Fair is accepting applications for exhibitors.
In its third year, the fair will take place at the Guy Cole Center, Carrie Blake Park, Sequim 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Saturday, June 5.
Entertainment and activities for children, and information and shopping opportunities for the parents are scheduled.
Last year, more than 1,400 people attended the fair.

Dave Kreps of Kreps Construction, LLC, attended the Environmental Protection Agency’s certified lead renovator training in Seattle on April 15.
The class covered testing for lead, containing contaminated dust and paint chips, cleaning the job site, homeowner and worker safety and record keeping.
Under a new EPA rule that goes into effect April 22, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities and schools built before 1978 must be certified and follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.
